User role management and synchronization with AD/LDAP

DCImanager has its own system for managing user roles. It allows you to restrict access to the equipment and to certain control functions.

You can create two types of accounts in DCImanager:

• Administrators can manage all equipment in the data center and use the full capabilities of the product.
• User — the client who has been given possession of the server. The user can manage its own equipment: clean up disks, install OS, connect to BMC, manage IP addresses and VLANs.

DCImanager with user roles management is useful for provisioning dedicated servers to external and internal clients. You can give an employee or a client access to a server, while the rest of the infrastructure is inaccessible to the user.

You can restrict access to DCImanager to a selected range of IP addresses to further enhance security. To do this, simply create groups of users and assign each group an IP address (separate IPs, ranges, subnets).

The platform supports two-factor authentication to protect the user account.

Grouping users and configuring ACL in DCImanager
