There might be thousands of items in the stock list of a modern data center, and it is difficult to keep this list actual without using special software. Inventory module in DCImanager Enterprise can help you handle this task. Also, it is simply very useful to have information about your inventory at hand right from the control panel.
The extended inventory module allows for equipment distribution per categories and types. Status for each item can be set, as well as serial number, purchase date, and location, such as specific server or stock area.
Procurement module makes it possible to add information on pricing, number of items, date of purchase and delivery.
For each deal, it is possible to upload invoices, bill of lading, other documents. In DCImanager you can also create equipment vendors and deliveries.
When creating a delivery, the administrator can upload a scan of the bill of lading. Barcodes for servers and equipment and serial numbers for spare parts can be printed.
It is possible to activate the status “on maintenance” for the broken servers. This status would show which servers are broken, what is required to get them fixed, and mark which parts are to procure for repair. After the new parts have been installed, DCImanager can attach them to the server by using a barcode scanner, and then mark the server as ready for operation.
