The server control interface (IPMI) allows controlling, diagnose and recover a server remotely on hardware level. IPMI does not depend on operating systems and works even when the server is turned off.
DCImanager can work with IPMI right from the interface. You can controll:
server power supply;
web interface connections in public networks;
web interface connections proxying for private networks;
IPMI console (even for private networks);
automatic IPMI configuration at deleting of the server.
Besides, DCImanager uses IPMI for collecting statistics on server temperature and power consumption. Please check the post about IMPI in our blog for details.
Moreover, IPMI allows you to collect the temperature and power consumption data. Find out more in our article about IPMI.
Remote power supply control via PDU
The PDU is the hardware for the power distribution. DCImanager allows tracing server connections to the PDU ports, turning the power on and off, controlling power consumption.
