VMmanager works with network protocols of IPv4 and IPv6. Usage of IPv6 might be limited in a few OS templates, which cannot be installed on a bare IPv6 protocol. Oftentimes such templates would need a temporary IPv4 address. It happens because some OS installers still don’t fully support IPv6.
In order to use IPv6 as a main address for a virtual machine, it is required to set up a built-in web server, or ihttpd to work with IPv6. ihttpd has been developed by ISPsystem. Also, name servers for IPv6 should be set up. Section “nameserver” with IPv6 address should be present in /etc/resolv.conf.
VMmanager uses two types of IP addresses: public and private. It makes it possible to distinguish public and private networks.
