This is the documentation for the deprecated product VMmanager 5. It is no longer updated and may be irrelevant. Documentation for the current version of VMmanager can be found in the VMmanager 6 section.
There are three types of users in VMmanager OVZ:
- Superuser (root);
- Administrator (admin);
- User (user).
Superuser (root)
A root user is created during the installation process. All further operations in the control panel are performed with admin privileges.
Main functions:
- Manages user accounts (admin, user): creates, sets permissions, deletes;
- Analyses access logs, notification logs;
- Configures the control panel.
Administrator
An Admin is created during the installation of VMmanager OVZ. An administrator has full privileges to set up and manage a cluster.
Main functions:
- Creates and manages a cluster;
- Creates and manages virtual machines;
- Manages disks of virtual machines;
- Configures network;
- Makes and restores backup copies;
- Analyses cluster and VM load.
User
A User is created by a server administrator for a virtual machine owner. The user can manage only his virtual machines.
Main functions:
- Creates virtual machines (if the administrator allows performing this operation);
- Manages virtual machines;
- Manages disks of virtual machines;
- Installs the operating system on a virtual machine;
- Analyses load of virtual machines.
