Network isolation (IP-fabric)
Creating isolated networks within a virtual machine cluster

Key features
Increased performance
Building a pure L3 architecture in a cluster without using broadcast traffic, reducing network load and increasing throughput
Optimization and savings
Reduced service traffic, fast scalability, saving public IP addresses and their independence from nodes
Security and isolation
Serving virtual machine addresses over a private network, isolating client virtual machines from each other
Scalability
Increasing network scalability, adding new nodes and resources without significant changes to the architecture
IP fabric — network configuration for virtual machine clusters
IP-fabric (network factory) is a network configuration for clusters in VMmanager, which allows you to build a pure L3 architecture (only routing at the IP level) and optimizes virtual infrastructure management:
Reducing service traffic
IP-fabric significantly reduces service traffic due to the /32 mask, increasing network efficiency.
High security and isolation of client virtual machines
The company's physical infrastructure is in a closed circuit, and client networks are isolated from each other.
Fast and inexpensive scalability
IP fabric allows you to add new nodes and resources without significant changes to your network configuration. This makes it easy to expand the network as the business grows or the workload increases. Using the BGP protocol allows you to quickly adapt to changes in the network, add new routes and ensure high availability.
Saving public IP addresses
IP-fabric optimizes the management of IP addresses, saving address space and ensuring their independence from nodes. The larger the company's infrastructure, the greater the benefit.
Network Fabric in VMmanager
The network fabric architecture in VMmanager consists of two layers:
Flat local L2 network for nodes. Only administrators have access to it.
Virtual machines are assigned IP addresses with a /32 mask, which excludes the use of broadcast traffic. Routing is implemented based on the BGP protocol.
Route Reflector (a special device, physical or virtual server) transmits information about routes.
