Hardware images

You can upload hardware images to the platform. This will make it easier to identify devices for maintenance, inventory, cable installation, and other tasks.

You can add front and rear images to the card of:

• racks;
• platforms — it will be shown in the cards of all hardware units based on this platform;
• hardware units — it will be shown only in the card of this hardware unit.

Image requirements

Images in JPG or PNG format are supported for upload to the platform. File size requirements and the recommended image resolution depend on the device type.

The platform converts the image to the recommended resolution if the resolution was higher before upload.

Uploading and attaching images

You can upload an image of equipment:

• in the directory in the images section;
• in the platform card;
• in the hardware card;
• in the rack card.

Directory

1. Go to Equipment → Directories → Hardware images.
2. Click Upload image.
3. Select the Device type.
4. Select or drag the hardware image files. You can upload up to 100 files at a time.
5. Click Load.

Platform card

1. Go to Equipment → Directories → select the section with platforms for the needed equipment.
2. Select the required platform or create a new one.
3. Select the Front or Rear view.
4. If there is no image, click Upload or select. If there is an image, hover over it → Edit.
5. If the image file is already in the platform, select it from the list. If the file is not in the platform:
   1. Click Load.
   2. Select or drag the hardware image file.
6. Click Apply.

Hardware card

1. Go to the table for the needed type of equipment:
   • for servers: in the left menu Servers → In use;
   • for chassis: in the left menu Servers → Chassis;
   • for storage chassis: in the left menu Storage;
   • for switches: in the left menu Equipment → Switches;
   • for PDU: in the left menu Equipment → PDU;
   • for UPS: in the left menu Equipment → UPS;
2. Select the required hardware unit or create a new one.
3. Select the Front or Rear view.
4. Click Upload or select or hover the mouse over the image → Edit.
5. If the image file is already in the platform, select it from the list. If the file is not in the platform:
   1. Click Load.
   2. Select or drag the hardware image file.
6. Click Apply.

Rack card

1. Go to Racks → select a rack → select a device in the rack. A window with the device card will open on the right.
2. Select the Front or Rear view.
3. Click Upload or select or hover the mouse over the image → Edit.
4. If the image file is already in the platform, select it from the list. If the file is not in the platform:
   1. Click Load.
   2. Select or drag the hardware image file.
5. Click Apply.

How to attach a rack image

1. Go to Racks → select a rack → Rack photo.
2. Select the Front or Rear view.
3. Click Upload or select or hover the mouse over the image → Edit.
4. If the image file is already in the platform, select it from the list. If the file is not in the platform:
   1. Click Load.
   2. Select or drag the hardware image file.
5. Click Apply.

Managing images

To perform an action with an uploaded hardware image:

1. Go to Equipment → Directories → Hardware images.
2. If needed, set filters:
   • specify the Device type;
   • click Search by name and enter the search criteria. For more information about filters, see Using filters.

3. Click the icon. Possible actions:

   • View;
   • Rename;
   • Delete.

To view the image in the device card:

1. Go to the table for the needed type of equipment:
   • for racks: in the left menu Racks;
   • for servers: in the left menu Servers → In use;
   • for chassis: in the left menu Servers → Chassis;
   • for storage chassis: in the left menu Storage;
   • for switches: in the left menu Equipment → Switches;
   • for PDU: in the left menu Equipment → PDU;
   • for UPS: in the left menu Equipment → UPS.
2. Click the required device.
3. Select the Front or Rear view.
4. Click the image.
