Catalog category — a logical group of tariffs of different product types that allows flexible menu configuration in the client area. With its help, the provider can group tariffs of different product types into convenient sections. For example, this allows grouping virtual servers with networks, and domains with SSL certificates. This simplifies navigation and the ordering process.
Creating catalog categories
To create a new category:
- Go to the Products → Catalog categories section.
- Click the Create button.
- In the Main block, fill in the fields:
- Name — category name.
- Internal name — the internal name of the category used for identification. It cannot be changed after creation.
- Sorting — allows you to set the order of the category among other menu sections.
- In the Order block, configure the display:
- Tariff display — select how the category tariffs will be displayed on the first step of the order (available options: list or blocks).
- Icon — upload an image to display the category in the menu. The standard icon display size is 32x32 pixels.
- Click the Ok button to save changes.
After creating a category, you can change its position relative to the main product types: display it above all standard sections or below.
Configuring cloud categories
If the provider offers services with infrastructure isolation within projects, a regular catalog category can be made cloud. To do this, it must be linked to a specific virtualization processing module virtualization (for example, VMmanager 6) and a tariff of the billcloud type. After this configuration, the platform changes the ordering logic: when a service from this category is ordered for the first time within a project, it creates a tenant in the external system, and subsequent resources are placed inside this tenant.
For more information on how to configure a cloud category, see the article Installation and configuration of the "Projects" module.
Display to customers during ordering
To display the category to customers during ordering:
- Select the category in the category list.
- click:
- the On button to display the category;
- the Off button to hide the category. Existing client services created in this category will continue to work, but the ability to order new services from this category will be blocked.
- click Ok to save the changes.
Connecting tariffs to a category
After creating the category add tariffs to it:
- Go to the Products → Catalog categories section.
- Select the required category from the list.
- Click the Tariffs button.
- In the list that opens, select the tariffs that should be included in this category.
